BETWEEN TWO LANDS

Documentary project which reflects millennial migration and the emotional challenges of living abroad, which is known as migratory grief.

Emigrating means learning to build a life away from those you have in your country of origin. During the migration process, we have to face a series of material and symbolic losses related to what we leave behind. Here we can talk about family, friends, language, status, customs, comfort zone, etc.
Through interviews, we paint a portrait of contemporary Spanish emigration in which we give a realistic vision of what it means to live thousands of kilometers away from your roots.
This project was developed for two years and was recorded in five different cities. We were able to count on the collaboration of psychologists with expertise in the field, such as Dr. Joseba Achotegui, the support of the Madrid College of Psychologists and the Volvemos.org platform.
Being an emigrant myself, this film, which I directed, co-producer and edited, helped me explore a series of mixed feelings that most of us who have left our country have had to deal with in one form or another.
This project is complemented by a series of podcasts related to migration that are carried out through Facebook Live and that are
hosted on the Spotify platform.
